Imaginification
(opens in a new tab)A collection of the creative and the interesting
Many creative ideas begin with a single conversation, a small experiment, or a single courageous individual willing to try something different. At first, the impact may appear modest. A team works more effectively. Customers respond positively. A process becomes simpler. The problem has been solved, at least for one group. It is tempting to celebrate the success and move on.Yet the greatest value of innovation is rarely found in its first success. It lies in its ability to create positive change far beyond its original setting. A truly powerful innovation does not remain confined to the department that invented it, the organisation that piloted it or the community that first embraced it. It spreads, evolves, and multiplies its impact, improving lives in ways never imagined when the original idea was conceived.Read more: acre701.substack.com/p/a-brilliant-idea-changes-one-team#creativethinking #creativeproblemsolving #acre30 #innovation #personaldevelopmentvelopment #personalgrowthJoin us at ACRE30, Africa’s Premier Creativity and Creative Thinking Conference in 2026 at Klein Kariba, South Africa! acreconference.com/

Every meaningful act of creativity begins with a problem that does not yet have an obvious answer.Sometimes the problem is personal. Sometimes it is organisational. Sometimes it is social, educational, technological or strategic. Sometimes it arrives quietly as a persistent irritation. Sometimes it arrives loudly, carrying urgency, uncertainty and consequences. Either way, the creative journey begins at the same point: reality refuses to fit neatly into our existing answers. That is why the movie Project Hail Mary, based on Andy Weir’s remarkable novel, offers such a powerful metaphor for creative thinking. On the surface, it is a science fiction story about survival, space travel, and a desperate mission to save Earth. But beneath the adventure is a deeper lesson about how human beings solve impossible problems. The story is not simply about intelligence. It is about curiosity, courage, experimentation, collaboration, trust, learning and purpose.Read more: nlpwithpurpose.medium.com/phm-part-3-creative-thinking-when-the-stakes-are-high-9350534dc54b#creativethinking #creativeproblemsolving #acre30 #innovation #personaldevelopmentvelopment #personalgrowthJoin us at ACRE30, Africa’s Premier Creativity and Creative Thinking Conference in 2026 at Klein Kariba, South Africa! acreconference.com/

Many organisations say they want innovation. They ask employees to think differently, solve complex problems and generate bold new ideas. Yet, often without realising it, they create environments where people quickly learn that playing safe is the wiser option. Ideas are criticised before they are explored, mistakes are remembered longer than successes, and questioning established thinking is quietly discouraged. Under these conditions, creativity does not disappear because people lack imagination. It disappears because they lack permission.Read more: acre701.substack.com/p/you-cannot-demand-creativity-while#creativethinking #creativeproblemsolving #acre30 #innovation #personaldevelopmentvelopment #personalgrowthJoin us at ACRE30, Africa’s Premier Creativity and Creative Thinking Conference in 2026 at Klein Kariba, South Africa! acreconference.com/

Nothing kills creativity quite as quietly as yesterday’s success. When an idea works, the natural temptation is to repeat it. Processes become established, routines become familiar, and confidence gradually turns into certainty. What was once an innovative breakthrough slowly becomes the accepted way of working. Ironically, the very success that helped an organisation grow can become the force that prevents it from growing further.Read more: acre701.substack.com/p/success-is-the-most-dangerous-threat#creativethinking #creativeproblemsolving #acre30 #innovation #personaldevelopmentvelopment #personalgrowthJoin us at ACRE30, Africa’s Premier Creativity and Creative Thinking Conference in 2026 at Klein Kariba, South Africa! acreconference.com/
