Embodiment & Nature-Based Approaches to Fostering Creativity in Groups & Teams

This dynamic and experiential 90-minute session is designed to explore how practitioners can unlock the full potential of teams through the use of embodiment and nature-based approaches. Much of the learning and development field focuses on cognitive ways of knowing. Yet by expanding to and connecting with other areas of the body such as the heart, the gut, the hands, etc…additional ways of perceiving can be utilized. The session will also explore using nature as a way to expand the context of learning beyond traditional classroom settings and how this can facilitate creative insights and action.

What’s in it for you?

The program begins with a mindfulness meditation utilising the 5 Knowledge Centres embodiment model. Participants will explore expanding their creativity as practitioners and identify emerging insights and patterns across the group of participants. Participants will then experience a self-guided walking group coaching session in groups of 4 to expand on their insights from the mindfulness exercise. This activity invites participants to expand their thinking utilizing movement as well as insights from nature. Collective harvesting of insights and ideas for action will round out the session.

Key Learnings – Over the course of the session participants will:

  • “Get out of their heads” and into their bodies and into nature to explore ways of expanding their range as practitioners.
  • Gain a number of practical exercises that they can utilise in their own practices, working with groups and teams.
  • Learn from and share insights with workshop participants.

Krister’s Bio

Dr Krister Lowe is an Organisational Psychologist by training and practices as a Life, Leadership and Team Coach. He is a Co-Founder at NBIAssessments.com and also the Chief of Innovation at 6 Team Conditions. Dr Lowe was the pioneer of the Team Coaching Zone Podcast, which ran from 2015 to 2020 and had a listenership in over 130 countries worldwide.

He is the Co-Editor of The Practitioner’s Handbook of Team Coaching as well as a Co-Creator of the Nautilus Experience—an ocean-based LeaderSHIP and Team Coaching transformation program. Krister brings over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of leading organisations in over 40 countries around the world.
