Jacquie’s Bio
Jacqueline Lloyd Smith is committed to leading with the power of play. She is a doctoral student researching how individuals can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others by reconnecting with their innate human drive to play. She believes that this knowledge fosters appreciation and respect for differences, ultimately enabling greater collaboration for the common good.
As the founder of Strategic Play Global (SPG), an award-winning global management consulting firm, she specializes in applying creative and playful tools to solve complex global challenges. SPG delivers services in eight official languages and has contributed to multiple international projects, including work with NASA / JPL, Space Force / USAF, the United Nations, Royal Bank, HSBC, UBS, Ernst & Young, and T. Rowe Price. For over a decade, she has collaborated with scientists and engineers at Procter & Gamble, with SPG being recognized as Best in Class for its work on the development of Swiffer products.
Her contributions extend to local initiatives, including community engagement, safety, poverty, and land use projects with the City of Surrey. She has also worked with Public Works Government Services Canada on various projects and has provided expertise to the resort town of Whistler in areas such as transportation, housing, and economic development.
Previously, she worked as a licensed partner with the LEGO® Systems Group in Denmark, receiving on-site training and later becoming a Master Trainer in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology. In 2007, she was honored with the Partner Business Growth Award from LEGO’s Play for Business Division.
Before founding SPG, she served as Director at Bayfield, a therapeutic children’s treatment center, and worked as a Psychometrist for the Ministry of Solicitor General and Correctional Services.
Jacqueline Lloyd Smith is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and holds certification in play therapy. She earned a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management (2000) and an MBA in Executive Management (Management Consulting) (2006) from Royal Roads University. In 2005, she pursued business strategy and global business studies at Grenoble Ecole De Management in France. She received the Ted Wilson Memorial Award for Lifelong Learning from Royal Roads in November 2006.
Her academic contributions include associate faculty positions at:
- Austrian Marketing University (Vienna) – MA in Green Marketing
- Royal Roads University – MBA Program (Strategy)
- Lakehead University – Business School (Marketing and Sales)
- Western University – Postgraduate Art Therapy Certification Program, where she taught for over ten years.
She holds NAFTA Secret Clearance, now recognized under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
